Nice not to have to swim alone

Although the rather colder and gloomier weather meant the promenade was pretty deserted today I was not alone in the water! Not so far from the buoys which I swim alongside was a rather impressive looking ship preceded by a pilot boat guiding her out of our small transit wharf and along the narrow shipping lane. This is the same shipping lane that I sometimes sprint across when I pop over to visit Point Clear in the early mornings - when the tide and currents are favourable…….obviously :)

The sea has lost some of its warmth from its 2022 high point so far on Sunday of 9.9 degrees and today it was a very pleasant 9.6 degrees. I forgot my watch today so don’t know how long I was in the water but it felt like a fast time as the current was quite gentle as was the breeze.

The next two days of planned swimming may be in doubt as it looks like we have some very strong winds heading towards our east coast….but we shall see.
