A beautiful sunny day belied the sharp drop in the sea temperature since my last swim….

A “novice” error, some strong currents and nice waves…

What could be better than heading for a swim on a morning like this?

A warm (7.2 degrees) lively sea proved quite hard work….

Bright, sunny and lumpy…… a great start to 2022!

Back on my own today after being joined by a few more hardy souls, mostly in wetsuits on Saturday….

Another 6 degree swim of 500m brings up the mandatory 3000m required by the Arctic Polar Bear Challenge criteria….

On Saturday 17th December 1988 I was undertaking a very different type of challenge…..

6.2 degrees, 17mph south-south-westerly, driving rain…… Of course we’re going to swim!

A nice day for a walk along the prom led to some lovely chats with those passing by and some generous donations…

Despite a very low temperature for the season of only 6.8 degrees, it didn’t put off Caroline…..

December has arrived and so have single digit water temperatures……in style! Today it was only 7.9 degrees and the 17mph wind made for hard work in a bumpy sea…..

A huge feeling of gratitude as once more I take to beautiful coastal waters around Brightlingsea…

A meeting with six intrepid women also raising money for charity….

On a day when the grey horizon merged into the grey sea I broke out my flashing underwater light, ironically so that no-one could see me better :)
