Shaking all over!!

An unusual easterly wind created that unusual phenomenon of the “After Drop” today. I have been surprised at how few times I have suffered with this interesting bodily reaction to the submersion in cold water. The sea temperature was still hovering at just over 6 degrees but the wind really got into me during my short walk back to the beach hut.

By the time the dreaded 10 minutes post swim arrived I was properly shaking as the “After Drop” took hold. I wasn’t sure that I’d be able to cycle back but thanks to the wonderful Richard Latto and his excellent weekly show “Stereo Underground” I was soon dancing around as I locked the hut and headed to my bike. True I was a bit wobbly as I completed the first off road part of the journey to the lido but the Stranglers “Get a Grip” worked its magic and as I ventured out onto the road I was no longer shaking and had ceased to be a danger to other road users!

I think I have become a little complacent about the good old After Drop and had forgotten all about it!

Just shows you can’t be too careful.
