Using the hut for pleasure..

I arrived about half an hour early today and treated myself to a little reading for the study that I am currently leading on a Tuesday evening. Caroline joined me and we swam about 25 minutes before the high tide. This meant that the first 250m were really easy and completed in about 4 minutes and the 250m return journey was almost 10 minutes! The currents here can be very interesting and it’s good to have a sense of the possible before swimming.

Swimming on the high tide when there is usually a little slack period is usually the best time to cover the most distant, so today’s timing was fun and more unpredictable than it has been most of this winter, specifically because I like to create the best possible conditions, whilst staying inside the rules of the challenge (i.e. you can’t just swim the whole distance with the tide…..quite rightly)
